This often depends on the size of the basement and design factors such as adding a bathroom, wet bar, or custom use rooms such as a theater room. The best way to know for sure is to reach out to our team for a free estimate. A generic basement cost schedule is as follows:

    • Basement bathroom: $15-20K
    • 600 SF or less basement - $35 - $45K
    • 600 – 1500 SF basement - $45 – $100K

This depends on the project scope but for the average basement we remodel you can expect it to take anywhere from 8 – 12 weeks.

Yes all basements will require a permit unless the basement already has all framing, insulation, mechanical, plumbing and electrical roughed in before we start.

  • What is the primary purpose of the space? Will it be an office, bedroom/living space, large entertainment area, or something else? Knowing what you’d like to use the space for is essential.
  • How much storage room will you still need after the basement is finished?
  • How much of the space will have to remain dedicated to mechanical rooms during the remodel?
  • Does your basement have a waterproofing system in place or do you need one?

Vinyl plank and tile are the best flooring choices for basements. These options are waterproof and durable. Any type of flooring that isn’t waterproof will not last over time in a basement. The exception is carpet. We like using carpet in bedrooms in basements because they are often colder than the rest of the house.

Our preferred basement ceiling is a drywall ceiling. This offers the cleanest look and makes the space feel continuous with the rest of the house. We can also install acoustical ceilings. This option is best suited for areas with lots of pipes and mechanical items on the ceiling above. An acoustical ceiling doesn’t look as good as a drywall ceiling so this is better suited for rooms that are occupied less often.

We'll recommend insulation materials and methods suitable for your basement's specific needs, helping you improve energy efficiency and climate control.

Yes, you can add almost any type of plumbed fixture to your basement the same as you could for the other levels of your home.

A basement is conditioned the same way the main level of a home is. A return and supply system will be designed based on the size and layout of your space. Basements with large open areas will typically have one large return duct instead of multiple smaller ones (as found on the main level of most homes).
